Use the recipe for my basic pancakes here, but add:
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
pinch of cloves
to the dry ingredients and
3/4 c. pumpkin
to the wet ingredients.
Buttermilk Syrup
3/4 c. sugar
3/8 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Heat sugar, buttermilk and butter in a large saucepan (it will grow). Take off heat and add baking soda and vanilla. It will grow and foam a bit.
